Switchboard Search

Switchboard is a search engine that can look for individuals or businesses.  They gather their information from public documents such as business directories and the white pages of various phone books.  No lists are bought or sold and listings are a matter of public record.

You may fill in as many of the fields as you are sure about to narrow the search to those fields.  If you are unsure and want to search a more general population, leave some fields blank. (ie: Joan Smith in Los Angeles, CA is more narrow than J. Smith in CA....J. could pull up all the John Smiths around, and California is a lot bigger than the LA area.) If you test the search engine by entering your own name and are not listed, you may voluntarily list yourself (as well as an email address) by visiting their site: Link to Swtichboard  Remember that many households are listed in the phonebook under the husband's first name.
